An average home solar Photovoltaic (PV) system can generate around 40% of the energy your home requires annually. (source: Energy Saving Trust) As photovalic systems generate no CO2, you will be helping the environment too: the average domestic solar PV system could save over 30 tonnes of CO2 during its lifetime - per house!
Photovalic cells are fixed to the roof or wall(s). The PV cells are made from layers of a semiconducting material. As light falls onto the cell it generates an electric charge. The stronger the sunshine, the more electricity is produced. The output of a PV cell is measured in kilowatt peak (kWp) - that's the amount of energy the cell generates in full, direct, sunlight.
The table below relates to the New Feed-In Tariffs. Depending on how much electricity you can generate you will be paid a tax-free index-linked tariff for every KwH you feed to the Grid. Other incentives are also available, call us for more information.
